Who can be a Companion?

A Companion can be a teacher, psychologist, nurse, counsellor, chaplain, social worker or someone who feels they would like to offer the programme to their community. To become a Companion, for either the Young People or Adult programme, you will need a background check.

Companions must be endorsed by their employer or an approved agency (school, hospice, voluntary organisation, parish etc); you cannot run the programme if you are not endorsed.

Do Companions Need Training?

Yes! Companions must undertake a two day Training course in order to run a programme. They learn the theory and principles behind the programme, the skills and techniques necessary to implement it and become fully aware of the possibilities and limitations of their role.

Please note: Only trained companions can order and use Seasons for Growth Materials.
